Your child’s current reading level is Level M.

M= Student has mastered the skill within the current reading level
N= Student needs support with this skill in order to move to the next level
___Retelling a story at different parts of it while reading a longer story
___Identifying how characters change across an entire story
___Understanding from whose point of view the story is being told from
___Identifying important events that take place in the story and tell how they all
      played a part in creating the problem or solution of a story
___Reacting to the story or how characters act
___Noticing new and interesting words, and practice using them when having
       book discussions or when writing about the books they read
___Demonstrating understanding of character, using parts of the story to explain their
       thoughts and opinions
___Making statements about characters by studying the choices they make, how they treat other characters, and how they react towards problems
___Using personal experiences to place themselves in the shoes of a character in
       order to better understand them
___Identifying the message (theme) of a text by thinking about what they’ve learned
       from the story or characters
___Stopping to think about the text to jot their ideas down on a post-it and then
       continue reading
___Changing what they think about the characters after reading more of the story
___ Making many different predictions and then confirming their ideas
       when they are correct or changing their thinking and getting rid of predictions
        when they no longer match the story
